After 1 month of collecting dust from the time I ordered the set, I finally found the courage to open the 1st thick book. After a few days, I'm half way through book 1 and loving every moment of it. The book is indeed AMAZING and very well entertaining as complimented by many readers.
I saw the movies (all three parts) when they came out but didn't quiet understand or appreciate the story. I must confess that I fell asleep during some parts of the movie. The last halves of all movies are good, I must say. Well, the book, as always, is better and I can now follow Frodo and his hobbit friends through every journey, every movement, every thought.
It is hard to "decipher" Tolkien's literature at times but it's durable. LOVE IT!!!

Kids do the cutest thing: _ open their mouths when I shine the light in their eyes _ look right at their parents when I mention "eye drops".... with their brows raised in shock _ go cross eyes when they're supposed to be looking at my nose. _ giggle during stereopsis tests and in awe when they think they've picked up the "fly" heheheh
